Corralejo and Fuerteventura events 2027
Fuerteventura's 2027 calendar has a statutory spine that is already fixed, and a long tail of village programmes that nobody has published yet. The fixed part is the one worth booking around: the Canary Islands working-day calendar published in the BOE (BOE-A-2026-21254), La Oliva's two local holidays set by the BOC — 2 February for the Candelaria and 16 July for the Carmen — and the island's own patron fiestas, above all Nuestra Señora de la Peña on 17 September, Fuerteventura's island holiday. The tail is everything else: the carnival, the Blues & Jazz weekend, the kite festival, the October programme in Corralejo. Those are published two to six weeks before they happen, and this page says so rather than guessing.
What follows is the whole cleared year — 25 dated entries across twelve months: sixteen printed in full below, and the other nine on the three months that have a page of their own — January, November and December — whose sections link to them. The six weekly markets and the Ruta de los Coroneles at the foot of the page run every week rather than on a single date, and are not counted in that total. For the other nine months the dated events are printed here in full, because no page exists to hold them and they are still the best reason to pick one month over another.
One thing this page is not: a Spain-wide events listing. Everything here is Corralejo, La Oliva or the wider island — no mainland fixtures, no other islands. Underneath the whole year runs the island's weekly rhythm — six markets and the Ruta de los Coroneles — listed at the foot of this page.

January 2027
New Year's Day is the quiet one, and the month's real date is the 5th, when the Cabalgata de Reyes comes through Corralejo and Epiphany is a holiday the next day. San Sebastián at La Oliva on the 20th is the other fixed fixture, with bonfires the evening before. No other January programme is published yet, so the island's weekly markets carry the rest of the month.
January 2027 — New Year's Day, the Cabalgata de Reyes and San Sebastián in La Oliva
February 2027
La Oliva's own municipal holiday falls on the 2nd, for the Candelaria in the village, and it is the only February date published so far. Carnival is the month's real business, and Corralejo's is the big one, but La Oliva releases that programme about a week before the fiesta starts, so there is nothing to print for 2027 yet.
Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria — La Oliva
Tuesday 2 February 2027 — one of La Oliva's two municipal holidays in 2027
La Oliva village, Iglesia de Ntra. Sra. de la Candelaria
Why go: The municipality's own holiday, one of only two it keeps in the year, so the Candelaria is the day the village actually stops for: mass and procession in the old capital.
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: La Oliva releases the carnival programme about a week before the fiesta starts. This month is re-checked on trigger FEB-1.
March 2027
Holy Week falls early and lands entirely in March: Palm Sunday on the 21st, the two holidays on the 25th and 26th, Easter Sunday on the 28th. In 2026 La Oliva centred its Holy Week programme on El Cotillo, 20 minutes up the coast. Nothing else in the month has a date yet.
Semana Santa — El Cotillo, La Oliva
Sunday 21 – Sunday 28 March 2027 (Palm Sunday 21; Holy Thursday 25 and Good Friday 26 are public holidays; Easter Sunday 28)
El Cotillo, La Oliva
Why go: Holy Week is the Cotillo's week here: in 2026 La Oliva centred its Semana Santa programme on the village, 20 minutes up the coast, with Thursday and Friday both public holidays.
Sources: BOE-A-2026-21254 + the liturgical calendar for the Easter cycle + fuerteventuratimes.com (the 2026 El Cotillo programme, quoted by the mayor)
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: the SOCO and Marea Cultural weekends follow Easter and are announced a few weeks ahead. This month is re-checked on trigger MAR-1.
April 2027
Easter falls on 28 March in 2027, so it is behind you by April, and the month's two dates are a village saint's day and a farm fair: Villaverde's San Vicente Ferrer on the 5th, then FEAGA from the 15th to the 18th. Beyond those two, nothing in April is dated.
San Vicente Ferrer — Villaverde, La Oliva
Monday 5 April 2027 — the saint's day
Ermita and plaza of Villaverde, La Oliva
The fiesta runs around the day; the 2027 programme is not published.
Why go: Villaverde's saint's day, and the whole village programme with it: mass and procession, a romería with carts and camels, then Canarian wrestling and stick-fighting in the plaza. 10 minutes inland from Corralejo.
Sources: Fiestas de España (the 5 April feast day; the mass, procession, romería and Canarian wrestling in the village programme)
FEAGA — Feria de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca de Fuerteventura
Thursday 15 – Sunday 18 April 2027
Granja Experimental de Pozo Negro, Antigua, Fuerteventura — free
Why go: The island's own agricultural fair, with the national goat's-milk cheese championship inside it: 40 minutes' drive to Pozo Negro, and the best food day of the Fuerteventura spring.
Sources: feaga.net (the organiser's own confirmed 2027 dates) + cabildofuer.es 2026 programme (the Tabefe cheese competition) + visitfuerteventura.com (venue, and that it is free)
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: Villaverde's programme beyond the saint's day is announced a few weeks ahead. This month is re-checked on trigger APR-1.
May 2027
The month's two holidays both give less than they look. Fiesta del Trabajo on the 1st is a Saturday, so there is no long weekend in it; Día de Canarias on the 30th is a Sunday, and in 2027 it is not a working-day holiday at all. Neither La Oliva nor the Cabildo had published a programme for the day.
Fiesta del Trabajo — island-wide
Saturday 1 May 2027
Island-wide, Fuerteventura
Why go: It falls on a Saturday in 2027, so the day buys you nothing extra — worth knowing before you book a May break around a bank-holiday weekend that does not exist in 2027.
Sources: BOE-A-2026-21254
Día de Canarias — island-wide, with Corralejo Bay for the boats
Sunday 30 May 2027 — Día de Canarias; not a working-day holiday in 2027, because it falls on a Sunday
Island-wide; Corralejo Bay for the boats, Puerto del Rosario for the baile
Why go: The islands' own day, and Corralejo's part of it is on the water: in recent editions the boats have raced in the bay on the 30th, with the Gran Baile de Taifas in Puerto del Rosario the night before. Bay for the day, capital for the night.
Sources: fuerteventuratimes.com (the 2026 agenda: boats in Corralejo Bay, the Gran Baile on 29 May) + BOE-A-2026-21254 (there is no 30 May entry in the 2027 Canarias list)
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: neither La Oliva nor the Cabildo had published a Día de Canarias programme when this page was checked.
June 2027
June is two things: a village week, and a bonfire night. Lajares runs San Antonio de Padua up to the saint's day on Sunday the 13th, and the San Juan fires are lit near Corralejo's beaches on the night of the 23rd. The rest of June is still unannounced.
San Antonio de Padua — Lajares, La Oliva
Sunday 13 June 2027 — the saint's day; the fiesta runs across the preceding week
Lajares, La Oliva
Why go: The north's village fiesta done properly: in the last published edition the programme ran to Canarian wrestling, a livestock show with goats and camels, and a craft market in the plaza. Lajares announces the 2027 week only a few weeks ahead.
Sources: Fiestas de España (13 June feast day; lucha canaria, mercado artesanal in the plaza, exposición ganadera with goats and camels) + Fuerteventura Digital (Ayuntamiento de La Oliva release, 8 June 2026)
Noche de San Juan — Corralejo's beaches and Vallebrón
Wednesday 23 – Thursday 24 June 2027 (bonfires on the night of the 23rd; the feast is the 24th)
Near Corralejo's beaches, and Vallebrón, La Oliva
Watching, not building: when La Oliva last published its bonfire rules for the night (2024) they barred fires on the beaches and pavements, and groups had to register at the Corralejo Tenencia de Alcaldía.
Why go: Midsummer is a beach night here: fires lit near Corralejo's beaches, no ticket, and no reason to be anywhere else after dark.
Sources: Fiestas de España + Visit Fuerteventura + GEVIC (archived, 2021 — the "cerca de las playas de Corralejo" clause) + Diario de Fuerteventura (La Oliva's safety bando, 2024)
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: Lajares announces the San Antonio week a few weeks ahead, and La Oliva the San Juan night. This month is re-checked on trigger JUN-1.
July 2027
July belongs to the town's own fiesta. The big day is Friday the 16th, a municipal holiday in La Oliva; the night procession follows two days later, and the fiesta happens between the old town, the Muelle Chico and the bay. Beyond that weekend nothing has a published date: the rest of July's programme comes out in late spring.
Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Carmen — Corralejo
Friday 16 July 2027 — La Oliva municipal holiday, the big day; the night procession follows two days later (2027 programme not yet published)
Corralejo — the old town, the Muelle Chico and the bay
Why go: The town's fiesta: the Virgin goes to sea with the fishing fleet on the 16th and comes back through the old town two days later, with fireworks over the Muelle Chico. Plan the trip around the 16th.
Sources: BOC 2026/168, anuncio 3035 (16 July, La Oliva local holiday) + Diario de Fuerteventura (18 July night procession, Muelle Chico, fireworks) + Fiestas de España (16 July, maritime-terrestrial procession)
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: the rest of July's programme comes out in late spring. This month is re-checked on triggers JUL-1 and JUL-2.
August 2027
The Assumption falls on a Sunday, so the island's holiday moves to Monday the 16th and August gets one long weekend out of it. El Cotillo's Buen Viaje is dated by rule rather than by programme: the main day is the third Sunday, the 15th. Neither the 2027 dates nor the programme is published, so the 15th is all this page prints.
Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Buen Viaje — El Cotillo, La Oliva
Sunday 15 August 2027 — the main day, the third Sunday of August; the fiesta runs for a fortnight around it (2027 dates not yet published)
El Cotillo, La Oliva
Why go: El Cotillo's fortnight: the Virgin is blessed at sea on the main day and a grilled-jareas feed comes later in the run, with the fish calado the village catches itself. The north's biggest summer fiesta, and a 20-minute drive.
Sources: La Provincia (2026: 11–23 August; 16 August the main day, maritime procession; jareas asadero) + Descubre Fuerteventura ("el 3er domingo de agosto"; día principal programme) + Diario de Fuerteventura (la calada: dozens of neighbours, the catch goes to the asadero) + Ayuntamiento de La Oliva bando (2026 window, 11–23 August)
Asunción de la Virgen — island-wide
Sunday 15 – Monday 16 August 2027: the Assumption falls on a Sunday, and the Canarias public holiday moves to Monday the 16th
Island-wide, Fuerteventura
Why go: The Assumption lands on a Sunday in 2027, so the holiday moves to Monday the 16th: the summer's only long weekend, and the one worth taking leave for.
Sources: BOE-A-2026-21254 ("16 Lunes siguiente a asunción de la Virgen", Canarias) + Decreto 115/2026 (the rest day moves because 15 August is a Sunday)
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: El Cotillo's 2027 dates and programme are not published.
September 2027
September is the one month with an island-wide holiday in its own name: the Peña romería at the Vega de Río Palmas on Friday the 17th, when pilgrims come up the Betancuria barranco and the offering is laid at the hermitage door. Two village fiestas bracket it: Majanicho's hermitage on the 8th and La Caldereta's San Miguel on the 29th. The Peña's own 2027 programme is not published.
Nuestra Señora del Pino — Majanicho, La Oliva
Wednesday 8 September 2027 — the saint's day
Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Pino, Majanicho, La Oliva
The romería is not dated here, only the feast; the 2027 programme is not published.
Why go: Majanicho's hermitage fiesta: the romería comes in from Lajares and Corralejo, and a fish asadero feeds whoever walks in. Free.
Sources: Fiestas de España (the romería from Lajares and Corralejo, the asadero popular, free access)
Fiestas y Romería de la Virgen de la Peña — Vega de Río Palmas, Betancuria
Friday 17 September 2027 — Fuerteventura's island holiday, the third Friday of September
Vega de Río Palmas, Betancuria, Fuerteventura
Why go: The island's own romería, on the island's own holiday: pilgrims walk, ride and cart up the Betancuria barranco to the Vega de Río Palmas, and the offering of local produce at the hermitage door is the centre of it.
Sources: BOE-A-2026-21254 (note 1, quoting Decreto 115/2026: 17 September, Ntra. Sra. de la Peña, Fuerteventura) + culturafuerteventura.es/romeria-de-la-pena ("tercer viernes del mes de septiembre") + the Cabildo's 2026 programme PDF (the romería, the livestock show, the Sunday wrestling)
Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores y San Miguel Arcángel — La Caldereta, La Oliva
Wednesday 29 September 2027 — San Miguel, the fiesta's closing day (the fiesta runs through late September; 2027 dates not published)
La Caldereta, La Oliva
the fiesta's 2027 dates are not published.
Why go: La Caldereta's fiesta closes on San Miguel, and the village does it with plaza barbecues and verbenas — in 2026 the programme also ran a 16 km night trail through it.
Sources: Fiestas de España (2026 programme; San Miguel 29 September) + fuerteventuratimes.com (the night trail, 16 km and 650 m)
The 2027 programmes for the Peña, for Majanicho and for La Caldereta are not published yet; the dates above are the fixed feasts and the island holiday.
October 2027
A national holiday on Tuesday the 12th and La Oliva's Rosario on the first Sunday, the 3rd, are the month's fixed dates. The rest of October is announced in the first days of the month, weeks before it runs, so nothing further is dated.
Fiestas de la Virgen del Rosario — La Oliva
Sunday 3 October 2027 — the first Sunday of October
La Oliva village, around the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria
the fiesta's 2027 dates are not published.
Why go: La Oliva's patron fiesta, and the one October date the municipality owns: a romería-ofrenda with carts and camels, a procession through the old capital, then Canarian wrestling and verbenas in the plaza.
Sources: Fiestas de España (the first-Sunday rule, the romería-ofrenda and the wrestling) + barcelo.com guide (the first-Sunday rule, independently)
Fiesta Nacional de España — island-wide
Tuesday 12 October 2027
Island-wide, Fuerteventura
Why go: Spain's national day falls on a Tuesday in 2027: book the Monday off and one day's leave buys a four-day weekend.
Sources: BOE-A-2026-21254
No further 2027 dates are published for this month yet: the rest of October is announced in the first days of the month, weeks before it runs. This month is re-checked on trigger OCT-1.
November 2027
November opens with Todos los Santos on the 1st and ends on the island's fire night: San Andrés on the 30th, when Tetir and Piedra Hincada light up and roast chestnuts. Between them Lajares keeps the Milagrosa on the 27th. The month's bigger fixtures are announced over the summer, and nothing else in it has a date yet.
November 2027 — Todos los Santos, La Milagrosa in Lajares and San Andrés at Tetir
December 2027
December opens with two holidays a day apart, Monday the 6th and Wednesday the 8th, with the Tuesday between them an ordinary working day; the Inmaculada is kept at Betancuria. Christmas Day then falls on the Saturday and New Year's Eve on the Friday, so both of the month's big nights are followed by a free morning. The month's Christmas programme is announced in October and November, and none of it is dated yet.
