Spain Events - December 2026
December 2026 is the fiesta end of the year: the island's Concepción and San Andrés celebrations, the Corralejo marathon along the Grandes Playas, and a Christmas market 25 minutes away in Teguise. The puente — the long weekend around 6 and 8 December — is the planning note that matters most.
Only one December entry carries a two-source confirmed date: the Maratón Corralejo on 12 December. The other six are annual fixtures whose 2026 dates are not yet confirmed by two independent sources, so every one is labelled provisional rather than presented as fixed.
On Fuerteventura this month
IV Maratón Dany Sport Corralejo Grandes Playas
12 December 2026
Corralejo, from Avenida Nuestra Señora del Carmen along the Grandes Playas
Why go: a rare chance to race — or simply to cheer — a marathon run against the Corralejo dunes and coastline, with 5k, 10k, half and full distances plus inclusive categories. The organiser's own site confirms the date, and registration opens well ahead.

Fiesta de la Concepción — Betancuria
8 December 2026 (feast day; the surrounding programme's dates are to be confirmed)
Betancuria historic centre and the church of Santa María, Fuerteventura
Why go: Fuerteventura's first capital stages its Concepción fiesta through one of the island's best-preserved old towns, with a solemn noon Mass in Santa María on 8 December. It is the island's most atmospheric winter fiesta.

Fiestas de Las Parcelas (San Andrés) — Puerto del Rosario
Around 2–10 December 2026 (provisional)
Las Parcelas, Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura
Why go: the urban arm of the island's San Andrés cycle — a neighbourhood romería, bonfire and chestnut-and-new-wine night in Fuerteventura's capital, and the easiest of the December fiestas to reach from Corralejo.

Fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepción — La Lajita (Pájara)
Around 2–10 December 2026, anchored on 8 December (provisional)
La Lajita, Pájara, Fuerteventura
Why go: a southern-coast village fiesta clustered on the 8 December public holiday, with processions and family events. It pairs easily with a Jandía beach day.

Elsewhere in the Canaries and Spain
Teguise Christmas Market — Lanzarote
3–8 December 2026 (organiser listing — provisional)
Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza Clavijo y Fajardo and Plaza Maciot de Bethencourt, Teguise, Lanzarote
Why go: craft and food stalls spread through the cobbled plazas of the Canaries' former capital — Christmas shopping inside a colonial town, roughly a ferry and a short drive from Corralejo.

Barcelona Christmas markets — Fira de Santa Llúcia and the Sagrada Família market
From late November 2026 (exact 2026 dates to be confirmed)
Avinguda de la Catedral and Plaça de la Sagrada Família, Barcelona, Catalonia
Why go: the Fira de Santa Llúcia has stood in front of Barcelona's cathedral since 1786 — nativity figures, the giant Tió de Nadal and Catalan seasonal traditions in one street. The most traditional way to see a Catalan Christmas.

December national holidays — the puente
Constitution Day 6 December (observed Monday 7 December) and the Immaculate Conception 8 December
Nationwide; Fuerteventura's municipalities observe both
Why go: the planning note a visitor actually needs. The worked holidays in 2026 fall on 7 and 8 December, because 6 December lands on a Sunday — so shops, museums and many restaurants are shut while the Christmas markets and the island's village fiestas peak.
