Spain Events - October 2026

October 2026 is the busiest month of the live window. Corralejo opens it with its own seafront blues and jazz weekend, and the mainland brings two of Spain's biggest autumn fiestas — Fiestas del Pilar in Zaragoza and Hispanidad in Madrid — plus the Sitges fantastic-film festival and the start of Madrid's flamenco season.

All six entries below are fixtures: annual events returning for another edition. No one-off dated listings have been confirmed for October 2026 yet, so the page lists only what two independent sources support.

On Fuerteventura this month

Corralejo International Blues & Jazz Festival 2026 (20th edition)

22–24 October 2026

Avenida Nuestra Señora del Carmen (seafront promenade), Corralejo, La Oliva, Fuerteventura

Why go: a free open-air weekend on Corralejo's seafront promenade — the 20th edition, with an international bill a few steps from the town's bars and beaches. It is the easiest big-name festival of the island year to simply walk into.

Fiestas de Santa Marta — Costa Calma (Pájara)

Mid-October 2026 (dates to be confirmed)

Village streets and plazas, Costa Calma, Pájara, Fuerteventura

Why go: a proper Costa Calma village fiesta — parades, concerts, themed nights, children's workshops and a communal paella finale with live music. It is the resort at its most local.

Elsewhere in Spain

Hispanidad 2026 — Madrid

2–12 October 2026

Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Gran Vía and other open-air stages, Madrid

Why go: Spain's national-day festival — more than 150 free activities across open-air stages in the city centre, closing with the 12 October parade down Gran Vía. It is a rare case of a capital-wide programme that costs nothing to attend.

8–18 October 2026

Sitges, Barcelona, Catalonia

Why go: 59 editions in, Sitges is the flagship of fantastic-genre cinema — ten days of premieres and retrospectives in a walkable seaside town where the screenings are open to anyone with a ticket.

Fiestas del Pilar 2026 — Zaragoza

10–18 October 2026 (nine-day official run)

Plaza del Pilar and the Basílica, Espacio Zity (Valdespartera) and venues across Zaragoza, Aragón

Why go: the Ofrenda de Flores on 12 October — hundreds of thousands of people in Aragonese dress laying millions of flowers into a mantle at the Basílica — is one of the great free spectacles of the Spanish year, inside a nine-day programme of concerts, jota, giants and fireworks.
